Arts tasters in dance, drama and art for young people
We can offer arts tasters on a one off or short-term basis, tailor made for a group of young people. This might be to offer young people you work with an opportunity to test whether they like a particular dance style, whether they would enjoy some graffiti sessions or to set up their own music studio.

Artists who can run short and long term projects in your centre with young people
We have in-house artists who teach various forms of Art & Design, Dance and Theatre - all professionals in their fields and experienced youth workers. Our team is available to meet with you for consultation, to mentor young people as well as to run projects at your centre. In addition to this, Southwark Arts Forum can offer a database of artists who have experience working on projects with young people (www.southwarkartsforum.org).

Advice and consultation on setting up arts projects in a youthwork environment
We can offer advice and support to youth centres setting up dance, drama, music and art projects in an informal context. We can share our experience with workers setting up creative projects for the first time or wanting to work in partnership. You might want to chat about a dance group you are starting, or find an opportunity to record a song one of your young people has written.

Opportunities to split costs through multi youth agency working with young people
We welcome opportunities of joint working and partnership with youth and arts organisations of all sizes. We believe there is a lot we can learn from each others’ work, and a lot young people can learn from working creatively with peers from different areas. In the past we have set up ‘SCompany’, a theatre company with Time and Talents in Rotherhithe and run dance classes in their club sessions.

"Each time I visit, I’m impressed with Salmon, whether it’s the energy and enthusiasm from the staff, the friendly and welcoming atmosphere, or the passion to provide young people with a safe and supportive place to hang out. It’s clear that the staff see the benefit of working with external organisations to offer young people a wide range of opportunities to engage in the arts and more."
