Youth Work Manager Marcus Senior reflects back on Salmon's Black History Month Event:

I really enjoyed the Black History Month Celebration. I particularly enjoyed the African Drumming performance by an invited guest performer Gary. He was able to woo the audience with eclectic sounds and beats. It was nice to see young people interact with him during his performance and how they generally seemed to enjoy all the acts throughout the evening. It was also nice to see my daughter and her friends at Salmon chilling out and dancing during the after party celebrations. Having received positive feedback from young people and staff about the event, it made all my efforts of organising this event worthwhile. It was great to celebrate my Black Heritage with so many and I am proud of the historical journey that Black people have made through music, dance, singing, drumming and Afro – Caribbean cultural food.

As it’s been a while since I’ve planned an event of this scale, I was slightly ring rusty and craved the support of some staff team members that helped me to keep on top of things. You know who you are. Respect Due!!
