The 10-13s mixed club was a night to remember, as the young people were the guests of the Salmon Youth Centre’s prom night for the half term.

Around 80 young people attended the prom night hosted by the committee members, with many young people dressed smart for the occasion. Food and drinks were available courtesy of the Committee, which made loads of the young people very happy to see!

Fun and games such as apple bobbing, musical statues, tight rope, and the highly anticipated dance competition, which had loads of young people on their feet, especially during the cha cha slide, led by Young Leader Harry Dobson.

Committee President Cameron gave a speech nearer the closing minutes of the prom, and handed out certificates to those who won the dancing competitions, as well as the award for best-dressed male and female.

Yeside Williams, who is currently doing her work experience at Salmon really enjoyed the prom night and was amazed at how the 10-13s committee was able to host such a successful event.

“The 10-13s prom night was a very successful event that was interactive, entertaining and youth led. Everyone got involved with activities such as apple bobbing and dance competitions. Most importantly, everyone had a great time.”

We just want to say a big thank you to the Committee for planning such an amazing event and to all the young people who attended!
