The Salmon Youth Centre hosted a Summer Programme for the 6-9s and 10-13s during the first two weeks of the summer holidays.

Over 90 6-9 year olds attended the summer programme which gave them a chance to come to Salmon to socialise with their friends, take part in games and activities and win points and prizes for their teams.

Team leaders were also on the lookout for Stars of the Day, where young people from each team were awarded for of their exceptional behaviour and participation in activities throughout the day.

The Salmon staff and volunteers, who lead their respective teams took part in Dress the team leader, where the young people had the opportunity to dress their leader in whatever they grabbed their hands on from home, from wigs to make up and dresses.

John and Emily, students from Cambridge University also visited Salmon for the first time to volunteer their time to help in the summer programme.

John helped lead the blue team whilst Emily lead the ‘God slot’ where the young people played team games that taught the young people about God and what it means to be a Christian.

At the end of the programme, the Green Grasshoppers (led by Salmon Apprentice Derrick) were declared the winners.

Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Salmon Summer Programme!
