The overall aim of the day for members of the Jack Petchy team was to develop programmes to support young people into work through gahering the expereiences and views of young people to shape any future proposals.

Young people from inner london boroughs and some members on our N.E.E.T (Not Engaged in Education Employment Training) programme started to arrive from 10.30am and were split into workshop groups facilitated by Jack Petchy staff where they remained throughout the day.

The day was split in two parts; The morning session was used to explore a number of key topics and questions surrounding the stumbling block for youth unemployment and where responsibility lies.

The afternoon session focused on identfying waht support / opportunity young people feel they need to help them into work and explore what is currently missing and to make recommendations about what the Jack Petchy Foundation could do to support.

The event ended with a summary and feedback from all groups also, a vote of thanks was given to all young people that took part in the event.

Following the event, the views and recommendations from the Think Tank will form the basis of a report to the trustees of the Jack Petchy Foundation helping them to shape thier ploicy, strategy and focus thier financial resources in tackling the impact of youth unemployment for young people in society.
