We're excited to be launching the Toastmasters International Youth Leadership Programme at Salmon next month, thanks to sponsorship from Holborn-based Toastmasters club, Tube Talk!

The Youth Leadership Programme (YLP) is a ten-week programme that will equip young people with public speaking and leadership skills in order to better prepare them for employment and life in general.

The programme kicks off on Tuesday 8th April 2014 and will take place every Tuesday evening from then on for the next eight weeks.

At the end of the eight weeks of training, there will be a final showcase event where the young people will display their newly acquired skills in front of family, friends, employers and the local community.

We have just 20 spaces available on the YLP programme and it's open to any young person* aged between 16-25 and living in Southwark.

  • If you work with young people and would like to refer someone, please download and complete the "YLP Referral Form" below and also return it to mildred.talabi@salmonyouthcentre.org.

For more information, contact Mildred Talabi on 020 7232 5303 / 07582 545 322.

(Please note: the Youth Leadership Programme is part of our overall work with NEET young people on our "Future and Hope Employment programme", in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions. As a result, priority on this programme will be given to young people who are on Job Seekers Allowance and signing on at London Bridge, Peckham or Kennington).
