Over a hundred people turned up to the annual Community Day at the Salmon Youth Centre on Saturday 18th October 2014.

Once a year, we open our doors to the local community in Bermondsey and Southwark to come down to Salmon and get a taste of what we do all year round.

The day was filled with loads of different activities for all to enjoy, ranging from face painting to dance, drama and rock climbing. It was also an opportunity for volunteers to get involved in working at Salmon as a volunteer, young leader or gap year apprentice.

The second half of the Community Day was Salmon’s annual general meeting which over 40 people attended, including the Vicar of the St James and St Anne’s churches Gary Jenkins and Liberal Democrat MP for Bermondsey and Old Southwark Simon Hughes.

There was also a dance and drama performance by the young people of Salmon lead by Godiva Marshall, who has returned to Salmon to teach in the dance and drama sessions.

The annual report for 2013/14 was also presented at the meeting. If you would like a printed copy in the post, please contact our office.
