The Salmon Youth Centre hosted a Summer Programme for the 6-9s and 10-13s during the first two weeks of the summer holidays.

Over 40 10-13 year olds attended the summer programme which gave them a chance to come to Salmon to socialise with their friends, take part in games and activities and win points and prizes for their teams.

Team leaders were also on the lookout for Stars of the Day, where young people from each team were awarded for of their exceptional behaviour and participation in activities throughout the day.

Students from Cambridge University, Jeff, Edward and Sophie also visited Salmon for the first time to volunteer their time to help in the summer programme. Jeff lead the Red Team, Edward led the Yellow Team and Sophie lead the Green Team.

Points and prizes were awarded to individuals for showcasing their talents ranging from singing, dancing, playing instruments and trampoline moves!

At the end of the programme, the Read Team won by a landslide victory for their indivudiual efforts and their dedication toward group games and activities!

Many thanks to everyone who took part in the Salmon Summer Programme and a special thank you goes out towards the students of Cambridge University for dedidcating their time to volunteer during the summer programme!

"What I love about the Salmon Summer scheme is that it is so fun and everyone is really friendly and you do so many fun activities." - Bryana, 11
